Anson, Beaufort, Bertie, Bladen, Chowan, Cumberland, Currituck, Dobbs, Edgecombe, and Granville.
The Granville Proprietary which covers most of what is now the upper half of NC is unfortunately one of the least known eras in NC history.  Its lands brought in people from outside NC and frequently sons of families already here took up lands as they married and settled down.  Hard Cover, 6X9 size, jacket, 417 pages, full name and place index.
